PLAY - "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brien Friel. Performances 1st and 2nd May 2012, Flavel Theatre.

The story centres on 1930s rural Ireland and the last shared summer of the five Mundy sisters;
Catholic spinsters, the youngest of whom, Chris has an illegitimate son, Michael, aged seven. As an adult, Michael narrates the story in retrospect, recounting the play’s events as childhood memories. This is a wonderfully well written drama that mixes memory and desire, generous humour and piercing sadness. One moment you are laughing, the next your eyes are filled with tears. The play has just been released for non professional groups after a period of 4 years, directed by Bill Hunt.
